Island Creamery
If you want one of a kind flavors of homemade ice cream, Island Creamery is a must stop. Located right on Maddox Blvd, it is almost a guarantee that upon driving onto Chincoteague you’ll see a line stretching out the door. But not to worry, their workers are both efficient and friendly, and the taste will be worth the wait!
Island Creamery has been serving handmade smiles since 1975, all the while being run by the same local Eastern Shore family who can frequently be found with a smile on their face working behind the counter.
With over fifty original flavors made with locally produced ingredients, you can find an option available for just about every dietary restriction. The creamery also makes delicious ice cream cakes and waffle cones, so in case the ice cream isn’t enough the smell and sight of waffle cones being freshly made as you walk into the creamery will definitely make you drool.
In 2014 TripAdvisor named Island Creamery the best ice cream in the US, and it’s safe to say it lives up to its reputation. In the past two years the Island Creamery has opened new shops in both Berlin, MD and Salisbury, MD both being wildly successful.
