Contact for reservations April through November
Explore the waters in and around Onancock Creek with Bill and Mary Burnham, local kayak and paddle board guides who are arguably some of the most knowledgable in Virginia. For 20 years they have been sharing not only Eastern Shore estuaries, but Florida seas and islands as well.
Mary and Bill have written eight books chronicling paddling, camping, and hiking recommendations in Florida and Virginia, including this one which is everything you need to know about kayaking.
Consequently, the friendly pair are a wealth of information to raving fans near and far. They spend April to November in Virginia, based in Onancock at the wharf (though they will guide tours as far north as Chincoteague and as far south as Northampton County if requested) and December to March in Florida. They also offer multi-day camping tours for the intrepid paddler.
Tours generally leave from the wharf in Onancock (theHistoric Steamboat Ticket Office) at 10:15 am. Beginners are welcome. Kayaks, bikes, and paddle boards are also available to rent (they take walk-ins), and can be delivered.
