Pico started off as a small taco hut just five years ago run by a set of twin brothers and their wives, but immediately became one of the most well known eateries on the Shore. Not only do they have a variety of tacos served daily featuring everything from fresh Chincoteague oysters to local veggies, they also have amazing sides (especially the guac!) and daily specials that truly represent their motto that “you can put anything on a taco.”
A personal favorite aspect of Pico is the flexibility of your dining environment. The taqueria offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or dinner with the family, they make sure you have a positive experience. Plus, if you're headed to the beach they make it super easy to get your tacos to-go (in eco-friendly packaging) so you don’t miss any of the Assateague sunshine!
Two of the masterminds behind the Pico brand, twins Dylan and Nate.
With its immediate success, Pico has relocated for the summer of 2019 to a larger location just down the street, making their indoor dining visions possible. The move also allowed them to expand their menu, now offering delicious frozen margaritas, and open up what they call “Pico 2.0” at their old location - the Banana Hammock.
Pico uses several local vendors for ingredients. Above, in this delicious hash, they used quail eggs from Perennial Roots and sweet potatoes from Quail Cove.
