Morning Star Farm

The chickens at Morning Star Farm live the life of Riley: fresh air, sunshine, and a cornucopia of feed and food and fresh water to give any hen envy. In return, these fine birds produce eggs with rich orange-yellow yolks that can hardly be compared to anything found in a modern supermarket.

Young Bennett Bauer proudly offers select hens for broiling during the culling season (spring through fall). Whole chickens are offered at about $4/pound. In 2017, he began selling by the part as well. Bennett does the work himself, and, as he’ll point out to you, his last name is German for “farmer”!
