Against all odds, Pam went on to win $7000 in a Self Magazine new business contest. She expanded Blue Crab’s offerings, developing many of today’s flagship products. More than three decades later, the company features snack mixes, soups, beverage mixers, and stoneware, available at over 2000 stores.

Barefoot has since retired but Elizabeth Lankford, the new owner, continues to honor the local ingredients and culture that informed Pam’s original business concept and plans even bigger things for the company’s future.

Sting ray Bloody Mary mix is their most popular offering, and includes real clam juice. This and other products are reliably available at gourmet stores nationwide including Machipongo Trading, Gull Hummock, and their headquarters in Melfa, VA.
