Opened in 2008 in an old Texaco building, MTC offers superior coffees, locally baked goods, sandwiches, smoothies, and a fine variety of drinks, snacks, chocolates, and local gifts. Owner Carol Sabo is rightly proud to be certified a Green business—using only compost-able disposables for to-go items, for instance—and proud of their great relations with local vendors, whose products fill the adorable space.
Affable baristas will put a pep in your step even before your java is served! For those who need a cup of coffee stat, use the pre-made coffee bar on the left with three different brews made from locally roasted beans by Eastern Shore Coastal Roasting Co.
From sides and snacks to chips and dips, Machipongo offers a healthy, sometimes quirky alternative to the usual fare. Many products are organic, and many are from small local businesses such as Blue Crab Bay Co and Pungo Creek Mills. In a hurry? Call in your breakfast or lunch order from the road!
