Chatham Vineyards is owned and operated by the Wehner family at historic Chatham Farm which has been a working farm for four centuries. Vintner John Wehner transforms grapes from twenty acres of French vinifera into a variety of award winning wines which can be sampled and purchased in the tasting room. Open to the public.
The scenic Georgian farm can also be reached by boat via the famous Southeast Expeditions Kayak Winery tour. Image courtesy At Altitude Gallery.
Meet John and Mills Wehner, owners. “This is one of the few places that you can actually taste Virginia’s Eastern Shore - the soil, the weather, the land - they are all reflected in our award winning wines.”
One of the most popular ways to enjoy a glass (or bottle) of Chatham wine in nice weather is with a cheese tray that can be ordered in the tasting room - including bread from Bakery on Mason. Outdoor tables are available for casual kicking-back and relaxing in the fresh air.
