If Gull Hummock existed only to provide Cape Charles with wines, craft beers, artisan cheeses, local crafts, snacks and gluten-free foods that would be enough. But proprietors Honey and John Moore make their shop much more than a source of gourmet fare.
Their genuine warmth and appreciation for customers comes through in each interaction and is perhaps the secret to their success: many drop in for a hug and leave loaded with rare treats. Weekend "happy hour" wine-tastings are a must.
Gull Hummock is your source for many local products: Eastern Shore Coastal Roasters coffee, Blue Crab Bay nuts, seasonings and mixes, Chatham Vineyards wine, Barrier Islands Sea Salt, Seaside Gourmet Chocolate, and even ice cream from Brown Dog.
They also offer an assortment of gourmet and artisan cheeses, some of them made in Amish country. Aged gouda? Roquefort? Gruyere? They've got you covered. Ask about appropriate pairings with one of the hundreds of wines that are on offer.
